Hyejin holds a multifaceted educational background spanning architecture, environmental design, and housing and interior design. She earned a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design (MSAAD) from Columbia University GSAPP, a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning, and both a Master of Design in Environmental Design and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Architecture from Ewha Womans University in Seoul.
She served as a senior designer at Heerim Architects & Planners, a top-10 global practice (WA100) with over 1,400 professionals across 14 international offices, contributing to award-winning landmark projects. Her foundational experience includes roles as an intermediate architect at ARCHIBAN Seok Chul Kim & Partners – led by the Chief Commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Architecture Policy in Korea – and as an intern at Rafael Viñoly Architects. Additionally, she taught design studios at universities in Korea.
Throughout her career, she has delivered various projects across diverse scales and programs, including residential, hospitality, cultural, institutional, civic, commercial, stadium, and airport passenger terminal projects. Her notable portfolio features landmark developments such as Incheon International Airport Passenger Terminal 2 (MIPIM Asia Awards “Futura Project”) and the Main Stadium for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games (International Architecture Awards “Best New Global Design” and MIPIM Asia Awards “Futura Project”). Her extensive project history also includes high-profile developments such as the CNIA Main Administrative Building in Abu Dhabi, Hanoi Telecom Headquarters, Gimm-Young Publishers Headquarters, Changbi Publishers Headquarters, the Seoul Arts Center Music Hall Renovation, and the COEX Art Hall.
She is a registered architect in New York and D.C. with NCARB Certificate, CBO (Certified Building Official), CSP (Certified Sustainability Professional), LEED Accredited Professional in BD+C (Building Design & Construction), Certified Building Code Specialist, and MCP (Master Code Professional) which is the most prestigious designation that the International Code Council provides.
Hyejin joined DXA studio in 2014, reviewing and consulting on all aspects of projects while leading the quality control team.
