Hyejin has a broad educational background in several design-related fields, including architecture, environmental design, and housing & interior design. She received a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design (MSAAD) from Columbia University GSAPP, a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning, and a Master of Design in Environmental Design and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Architecture from Ewha Womans University in Seoul. 

Between her studies, she worked as a senior designer at Heerim Architects & Planners, an office responsible for numerous award-winning projects with over 1,000 employees at 9 global locations, as an intern at Rafael Viñoly Architects PC, and as an intermediate architect at ARCHIBAN Seok Chul Kim & Partners whose principal sat as the Chief Commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Architecture Policy in Korea. She also taught design studios at universities in Korea.

During the course of her professional career, Hyejin worked on various projects at a wide range of scales and programs including cultural, hospitality, institutional, office, civic, residential, stadium, and airport passenger terminal projects. Some of these projects include the Incheon International Airport Passenger Terminal 2 which is awarded as Futura Projects from MIPIM Asia Awards, Main Stadium for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games which was awarded Best New Global Design from International Architecture Awards and Futura Projects from MIPIM Asia Awards, CNIA Main Administrative Building in Abu Dhabi, Hanoi Telecom Headquarters, Gimm-Young Publishers Headquarters, Changbi Publishers Headquarters, Seoul Arts Center Music Hall Renovation, and COEX Art Hall, to name a few.

She is a registered architect in D.C. and New York with NCARB Certificate, LEED Accredited Professional in BD+C, and MCP (Master Code Professional) which is the most prestigious designation that the International Code Council provides.

Hyejin joined DXA studio in 2014 and has reviewed and consulted on all aspects of projects.
