DXA studio was asked to renovate and revamp the iconic Blue Note jazz club’s outmoded
interior.
Evoking a multitude of jazz variations and forms, the design is a visual play on the
underlying structures and tempo proportions found in jazz music. A wall system composed
of acoustic panels and 2-way mirror light boxes operate according to the club’s needs. Preshow, the mirrors are backlit with images of jazz greats and club performances past. Once
the show begins, lights are dimmed, images fall away and the walls become a backdrop of mirrors, offering a clean and contemporary space to experience the live performance to come.
