DXA studio was asked to design a new corporate office in a turn-of-the-century warehouse building in Noho's Historic District. The building provided a unique challenge given the narrow footprint of the building, and limited exposure to daylight along its perimeter.
At the heart of the office is an open bullpen area surrounded by custom fabricated steel and glass partitioned offices and meeting spaces. The natural light passing through the glazing combined with continuous perimeter cove lighting illuminating the restored structural barrel vaulting of the ceiling imbue the bullpen with a sense of openness, and serve to mitigate the limited exposure to daylight.
Entry into the office is celebrated with a custom installation by LA-based mural artist Diana Garcia. The glass window wall system of the bullpen extends inward to define a large conference room and library area by the entrance. Beyond the bullpen, towards the rear of the floor, an executive suite featuring offices for the principals and a private library.
